Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Learners App platform, including our website, Android application, and iOS application. By using any of our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to The Learners App. By accessing or using our platform — including the website (learners-app.com), Android application, and iOS application (collectively, the "Platform") — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform following any modifications to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and The Learners App ("Company", "we", "us", or "our").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Platform. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements.

The Platform is intended for students, tutors, and long-term learners. Use of the Platform for any purpose outside of personal educational advancement, tutoring, or community-based learning is not permitted.

3. User Accounts

To access the full features of the Platform, you must register for an account. When creating your account, you agree to provide accurate and complete information, including:

  • Username — used to identify you on the Platform
  • Email address — used for account management and notifications
  • Age — used to ensure appropriate content is presented to you
  • School or Institution — used to associate uploaded content and surface relevant study materials
  • Country — used to display geographically relevant content

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at learners-app.com/contact if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that provide false, misleading, or incomplete information during registration.

4. Platform Features & Services

4.1 Study Sessions

The Platform allows you to create study sessions by uploading course materials, notebook images, PDF documents, text content, or YouTube links. Our proprietary lesson generation system processes your uploaded content to create interactive, scientifically optimized study materials.

Uploaded materials are used solely for the purpose of generating your study session. We do not retain, store, or archive your uploaded files. All uploaded materials are permanently deleted from our systems immediately after processing is complete.

4.2 Study Material Directory

You may browse and download publicly available study materials generated by other users. When downloading materials, you agree to use them solely for personal educational purposes and not to redistribute, resell, or reproduce them without the express consent of the original creator.

4.3 TeachBack™

TeachBack is a group-based learning feature that facilitates peer teaching. When participating in TeachBack, you agree that your responses and contributions are visible to other members of the same study group. You are solely responsible for the content of your TeachBack responses and must ensure they are respectful, accurate, and appropriate.

4.4 Flashcards

Flashcards may be generated automatically from study sessions or created manually. Manually created flashcards are accessible for free revision at any time. Flashcards generated from study sessions are subject to the terms of the associated study material.

4.5 Timetable

The timetable feature is provided as a study planning tool. Timetable reminders are best-effort notifications and we do not guarantee delivery. We are not liable for any missed study sessions resulting from notification failures.

4.6 Learning Tracks

Learning tracks are curated, peer-reviewed study paths covering a range of professional and soft skills. We do not guarantee employment outcomes, certifications, or professional qualifications based on completion of any learning track.

5. User-Generated Content

By uploading, posting, or sharing any content on the Platform — including study materials, flashcards, chat messages, and TeachBack responses — you grant The Learners App a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, process, and display such content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.

You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to upload and share any content you submit. You must not upload content that:

  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Contains personal data of other individuals without their consent
  • Is defamatory, obscene, offensive, or otherwise unlawful
  • Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Violates any applicable laws or regulations

We reserve the right to remove any content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Platform community.

6. Public Study Materials & Monetisation

You may elect to make your generated study materials publicly available on the Platform directory. If you enable public visibility, your study materials will be discoverable by other users associated with your institution, or, if no institution is set, by any user browsing the Platform.

You may set a download credit price for your publicly available materials. Credits earned through downloads may be redeemed for cash through your dashboard, subject to any minimum thresholds and payment processing terms in effect at the time of redemption. We reserve the right to update credit redemption policies with reasonable notice.

By making your material public, you represent that the content does not violate any third-party intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyright in textbooks, academic papers, or proprietary course materials.

7. Chats, Groups & Community Conduct

The Platform provides chat and group messaging features to facilitate peer discussion and collaborative learning. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely and entirely responsible for all content you post in chats, groups, and TeachBack sessions.
  • We do not manually review, monitor, or moderate chat content in real time.
  • Community standards are maintained collectively by Platform users through the reporting system.
  • We reserve the right to restrict or suspend your access to chat features if your account receives a sufficient number of verified reports from other users.
  • Suspension of chat access based on community reports does not require individual manual review by our team.
  • We are not liable for any content posted by other users in chats or groups.

You agree not to use chat features to harass, threaten, bully, or engage in any form of discriminatory behaviour toward other users. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to, sharing explicit content, spam, misinformation, or any content that could endanger the safety of other community members.

7.1 Reporting

If you encounter inappropriate content or behaviour, you are encouraged to use the Report button. Reports are processed automatically. Upon receiving a defined threshold of reports, the reported user will be restricted from posting in group chats to protect the community. We will not display content from reported users to users who reported them.

8. Privacy & Data

We take the privacy and security of your personal data seriously. All user data stored on the Platform is encrypted to ensure your security.

We collect only the minimum personal data necessary to provide the Platform's services:

  • Username — for identification within the Platform
  • Email address — for authentication, account management, and notifications
  • Age — to ensure appropriate content is delivered
  • School / Institution — to associate uploaded content and recommend relevant materials
  • Country — to surface geographically relevant content

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising. We do not engage third-party advertising networks or data brokers.

Uploaded study materials are used solely to generate your study sessions and are permanently deleted from our systems immediately after processing. We do not retain copies of uploaded files.

We may use third-party service providers to support core Platform functionality. In particular, we may use Google Gemini to improve and operate our lesson generation features. This can require securely transmitting uploaded study materials (or extracts from them) to Google Gemini for processing.

Where available, we configure our integration settings to reduce data retention and to request that submitted content is not stored or used to train Google models. Google is solely responsible for handling any data it receives in accordance with its own terms of service and policies.

9. League of Scholars

The League of Scholars is a community recognition programme based on study dedication and performance scores. Rankings and titles are assigned algorithmically and are subject to change at any time. We do not guarantee any specific ranking, title, or recognition.

League standings are updated periodically. We reserve the right to modify the ranking system, scoring methodology, title names, and associated benefits at any time without prior notice.

10. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property on the Platform, including but not limited to the Learners App name, logo, software, lesson generation technology, TeachBack™ feature, and all associated trademarks and service marks, are the exclusive property of The Learners App or its licensors.

You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, transmit, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our express written consent.

Study materials generated by the Platform's lesson generation system are made available to you for personal educational use only. You may not redistribute, resell, or publish generated lesson content without authorisation.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of any content on the Platform for any particular purpose.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Platform. We are not responsible for any loss of data, study progress, or content resulting from technical issues, service interruptions, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The Learners App shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Platform.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms or engaged in any conduct that is harmful to the Platform or its community.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at learners-app.com/contact. Upon termination, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Modifications to the Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Platform or via email. The date of the most recent revision will always be indicated at the top of this document.

Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to binding arbitration or the jurisdiction of competent courts, as applicable.
